We aim to understand how nutrients influence the gut microbiota and how microbiota-derived small molecule metabolites regulate immunity at mucosal and distant tissue sites in the contexts of infection, inflammation, metabolic homeostasis, and cancer. We also seek to explore the involvement of other systems, including the nervous system, in this process of immunoregulation.
